Office Party Bling

Can you believe that November is almost here? I know, I am in denial, too. I just got used to the idea of Halloween and now the anxiety of holiday parties has started to sink into my nightly mental checklist of "Stuff to Prepare For". Seriously, it takes me even longer to fall asleep these days. 

I'll admit that I felt like I had a tinsel sign on my forehead last year that read: FAIL, when it came to getting dolled up for the company holiday party, most of which traditionally hit us sometime in November. (Theory: if the drinking starts early then you barely notice how insanely busy you are for the next month and a half before you drop into a coma on Christmas Day)

Well, this year I am letting my fingers get festive with the easiest accessory a busy gal has in her arsenal: polish. This isn't any old polish; Nicole by OPI has released their holiday sparkle series that will have your fellow co-workers ooh-ing and ahh-ing at your glammed up fingernails. I love the sparkle to the finish and the glitter is tastefully balanced by the rich colour. My fave: "Orna-ment-for-Each-Other". It's a candy cane red with the right amount of bling and the perfect accompaniment for that go-to LBD you already have in your closet. 



Also makes the perfect stocking stuffer for those beauties on your list....pair it up with a gift certificate to your BFF's favourite nail bar or spa for a mani and you'll put Santa to shame!

I don't know what it was about Chicago that had me talking like a 1920's gangster, but I loved it! I also adored this incredible City By The Lake, with its big shoulders and all. Here are some of the highlights of my first trip to Chi-Town with my darling friend, Butters: Art and Architecture... The Art Institute of Chicago is a must for all the art obsessed. It's $25 USD per adult ticket but you could easily spend half a day there, soaking in all of the centuries of art they have on display. There is An End!

Winter worn tresses? There is an end, pun intended. After a heartfelt evening of catching up with one of my most darling of gal pals, of course the conversation lead to hair. I can't shut up about the mop I carry around and especially in this brutally cold environment: enter the Great White North and it's bludgeoning effect on my poor candy floss do. We had a good chuckle about being able to cut our ends with our fingers (scissors not required for such crunchy ends) and then the heavens delivered me a press release this morning about Bain de Terre's Jasmine Infused 2 minute Intense Conditioner. It will be available by March and I can not wait to dunk my entire head into it. A lways on the hunt for more fabulous dining options in Toronto, let's shine some love and light onto St.Clair West, the midtown part of it that is. Some amazing culinary options have made this neck of the woods their home and only a ten minute bike ride away from my place, I am so thankful they have.
